Well now, that was delightful. Yes, it was predictable but nonetheless a delightful, fun light romance set in the Regency era (which I enjoy). The characters and storyline developed quickly and with enough depth that I found myself glued to the pages. The pacing was steady, and the pages were flipped quickly. I could not put this book down; it was read in one day - into the wee hours. A fun, fun story that was well suited to my reading tastes and mood.

Had this not been recommended by a book tuber I enjoy, I'd likely not have read a "clean/proper" romance book. If I am going for romance on the rare occasion I do, I am here for some good smut. But this little book was so damn charming, I didn't feel like I was missing anything in not having smut involved.
I certainly wouldn't call it mind blowing or the best thing I have ever read, but it was so cute and the romance was really wholesome, that I am hard pressed to rate it any lower. I normally love a good enemies to lovers romance, not this kind. But I really adored Philip and how he fell first.
This is a light, easy and quick read. Perfect this spring and may be a good one to re-read during that time of year for the vibes. Not the best writing and some very regency-esque opinions of daliances, however, it was still enjoyable overall and I think the latter I can look past here for to this being a historical fiction.

This was my third time reading this and it was not as good as I remembered. Not going to finish rereading it.

Reminded me of Pride and Prejudice just a bit with misunderstandings and exploring one's feelings for another.
