So far, my favorite of the series. Again building upon the narrative of the third and fourth installment, the characters are forced to reckon with some darker, more intense enemies and plot lines. Cammie's memory loss is dealt with in a way that is realistic and her first person perspective is less frustrating to the reader than it is heart-wrenching. I very much appreciated this change in the typical idea of "what happened last summer". This was the fastest pace of the first five so far as well and I read it in a single day.

I still remember being blown away by the twists in this book the first time I read it, and it definitely holds up a second read through. Been loving revisiting this series and I'm excited to dive into the final book next.
