A bit confusing. I was really enjoying this book at first. The book does make you want to read on and seems different to other books - an academy of girls who are spies.
Memory loss takes up the first half of the book and then more action is involved. Cammie seems in a lot of danger. I haven't read previous books in the series as they looked a bit twee/young for me, but I don't know who 2 of the characters finally revealed to be after Cammie are. I did guess one person who was after her and put her in danger.

So far, my favorite of the series. Again building upon the narrative of the third and fourth installment, the characters are forced to reckon with some darker, more intense enemies and plot lines. Cammie's memory loss is dealt with in a way that is realistic and her first person perspective is less frustrating to the reader than it is heart-wrenching. I very much appreciated this change in the typical idea of "what happened last summer". This was the fastest pace of the first five so far as well and I read it in a single day.
Moderate: Torture, Suicide attempt, Gun violence, Emotional abuse, and Death of parent
