I found this hilarious. I love Mae Martin and their humour. I also loved the points they made about being queer. I loved what they said about queer people saying they were 'born this way', I also felt like their approach to queerness is very calming which I found very refreshing. I felt I had a new refreshing perspective to my own queerness after reading this, plus I laughed a lot so that's a bonus.

Funny, relatable and informative. Lighter than I expected but also a lot funnier. I’d love to see Martin do a Gay History book or show, their historical anecdotes were delightful.

"Although we might feel we live in inclusive times, the crazy thing is, prior to us labelling and policing sexuality and gender, it seems that all over the world, throughout all recorded ancient history, on nearly every continent, many thriving cultures have recognised and often revered diversity in gender and sexuality."

Excellent points are made, excellent anecdotes from one of my favorite comedians, and lots of hope for a better future. Worth a read!

I picked this book up thinking it was a memoir. While it’s a very different book and I’m much older than the target audience, it seems like a good, comprehensive book for teens/young adults.

As I was reading I realized that this book was published in 2018, and I imagine if it were re-issued Mae would change a lot about it. It was a good book - funny, personal and informative - and I would like to see it updated, especially given the political climate and growing need for ally-ship.

As an audiobook Mae is charming and funny to listen to. It's a quick read but I agree with most of what she says on a political level and I laughed a lot.
