This was a wonderful read and dipping back into an already-familiar world was fun and comforting. I appreciated how the leads played off each other – two people-pleasers negotiating how to please each other was interesting – and I appreciated the linear path of their romance. The characters were also quite distinct; I appreciated Katrina's consistent insight and honesty, and Jasvinder's growing self-awareness.

Ultimately I was looking for something a little deeper character-wise. There was a pattern of struggling to communicate topics, then achieving that communication about the topic, then simply solving or addressing the topic. Not to say that communication isn't often the biggest roadblock, but the solves to the actual conflicts seemed extremely simple after the buildup to discuss them. It wasn't bad by any means, just wanted to push just a smidge further.

This book was the definition of fine. The characters were lovable, but I didn't really connect to them because I didn't have the same life experiences. I wasn't totally invested in the romance, but the couple was adorable. The plot was interesting, but there was a lot going on. Overall, I enjoyed my time reading this but the novel was ultimately forgettable.
