As someone whoâs a people pleaser, has PTSD and panic attacks, and has taken a break from dating, I related a lot to Katrina and I think she was written with grace and care. âSheâd never been a shy person, even if life had made her waryâ hit me hard. This book had a lot of great representation and the world Alisha Rai has built an accurately diverse world in her modern love series.
I really really loved most of this, but it started to lose me at the end. I wanted more out of their story. I almost wanted a third act breakup? Which is something I donât usually want. Also while I love that both characters have their own personal story lines, I didnât enjoy that they were going through very similar struggles, especially since it went into Katâs experiences with PTSD much more than Jasâs. I also donât love incarceration in books. However the very last scene is very well done and I thoroughly enjoyed how it (and the other spicy scenes) deviated from the standard romance genre spicy scenes.
Super sweet but still definitely check trigger warnings for this one!
