Book 100 out of 200 books
"Micromegas" by Voltaire

Voltaire's shorter novella "Micromegas" is the story of the title character, his name literally meaning "Small-large", two French words conjoined into one. His exploration of other planets across the solar system, until the sixth and seventh chapters where micromegas travels accidentally to the gulf of Bothnia, in Scandinavia, and ridicules the *smallness of Humans.

MY THOUGHTS:
My 100th Book review! I have 100 books left 'till I finish this project! I actually have read over 80-90 books as of June 10, 2022- so I wouldn't have to worry about the book reading line anymore. This book was better for I to consume than "Candide" and "Zadig". Maybe because the plot is far more simpler and the novella relatively shorter.

This novella has its place as the first sci-fi works, also one of the first books of literary history.

I liked the ideas and ideals presented in this book. It was worthwhile, ephemeral, but worth the read.

Throughly enjoyable and witty. It's mostly Ada Palmer's fault I read this, but this is definitely the earliest space-faring fiction I know about.

This had a good story but I think I enjoyed it less as I tried to read it in French. This echoed the philosophy style of ‘le petit prince’ with it’s simplicity and use of space and important life message. It would be nice to read it in the future in english for a consoling read like with horse, fox and the mole which is also very similar in style and message.

I had to read it for school. It was entertaining, but not my kind of book.
