Such a charming libellus, or bookling, if you will. As an adolescent I decided I would write a story about aliens come to earth only to be flabbergasted by the insolence, the violence, the insanity which reigns upon the planet. Now, a decade later, I see that so obvious a story had already been written, and by the great Voltaire himself! Surely it could have been extended from a 30 page to a 300 page story, but it is what it is, and its size is probably one of its best features, for length has a tendency to breed inanity. This is a wonderful book as it is, as is anything by Monsieur Arouet.
