So many emotions right now!! This book is an absolute masterpiece.
Similar to the first part in the series, I spent about 60% of the book being confused but damn did I love it. And then things start to unravel and my jaw dropped so many times.
All of the characters are incredibly well crafted and have so much depth and complexity.
I’m continuously blown away by the author’s capability to give each character such a unique voice.
All in all, it’s a wild ride filled with adventure, mystery, action, fighting, death and gore but als love that defies all rules and realms.
I wish I could write a more eloquent review right now but my mind is still reeling.

I have no idea how to write a review for this. I cannot write coherent thoughts, I love it for all the world.

Jail for Tamsyn Muir for one thousand years.

I found myself missing the dynamic between Gideon and Harrow for most of the book. The wild ride that was the final act made it worth it, but still, it lacked some of the (how to put it?) macabre joy I loved about the first in the series. I am also not completely sure who is alive or dead, but y’know, minor details…

Despite everything, I am looking forward to the rest of the series.

I knew before reading this that the plot would not make sense until 2/3 trough, so I was prepared for the confusion.
The finale was something else and bumped my rating from 4 to 5 stars, incredibly satisfying to unwind all the what-the-fuck-is-going-on.
But: check trigger warnings before reading, like there’s a lot of really graphic stuff.
Also maybe not a book anyone should read during an active psychotic episode (this is not a joke).

Remember last book? No you don’t. Don’t even try to remember it or you’ll just be MORE confused. Prepare to not know what the fuck is happening until 3/4 of the way into the book. Also have you ever read 2nd person POV? It’s dreadful. It makes no sense until you’re 80% into the book. I wish there would have been at least pieces of things that made sense instead of just having us ride a roller coaster backwards upside down and in the dark until the very end of the book practically.
