So I was in Thailand looking for Perfect Moments (as one of my friends accused me of). The land of smiles, they call it. Do I ask the Fat Family on the way to the World's Fair to look for the Cambodian Pavilion? Why shouldn't there be a Cambodian Pavilion? Yer man Gray swam his way through pools and pools across America. Fear Death by Water.
As if something would extend upwards from the bay a mile long, plunging itself into the sky.
Was Spalding Gray an earlier DFW and less of an asshole? I believe and hope so.

I think I should have watched this first, though. I just didn’t realize he had recorded it. I kind of just started reading it without any background info.

4.5 stars. Absolutely in love with this written monologue, but the live performance is even better.

I'm guessing this comes off better as a spoken monologue than a book
