There was something very real about this book, but it wasn’t too heavy. There are some heavy topics addressed, but it still focused on the romance and the hopefulness of it. I liked this better than the first book.
Graphic: Death, Emotional abuse, Grief, Car accident, and Gaslighting
Moderate: Infidelity and Sexual content

What a sweet romance novel! As someone with an English degree who grew up with a parent who worked in the public school system, this book was everything I needed and more.
Though it’s the second book in the Leade Park series, it can be read as a standalone.
This novel follows Jenny who we learn has experienced a toxic and emotionally abusive relationship and has had a string of one-night stands ever since. She’s comically chronically late to everything—appointments, meetings, and relationships.
Ben, a fellow English teacher with whom Jenny has been friends for 9 years, seems like the perfect guy. But is Jenny really worth his time and attention? And can they ever get their timing right?
This is a novel about learning to love yourself and discovering how to put yourself first… even when you’re a chronic people pleaser.
