I remember reading this as a kid, some 40 years ago, and really enjoyed revisiting it. The storytelling is simple but effective, and whilst the characters are fairly standard, the based on a true story premise is so great that it really makes for gripping reading.

This is yet another book that I had to read in school. I thought that I would hate it cause it was school related, but it was actually pretty good. The activities my teacher had us do made it more fun than it probably should have been.

Fantastic quick read.

It is scary how dependent people are on leadership, even leaders or movements they do not fully believe in. This is based on a true story or an experiment performed in a high school. Yes, it is an extreme version but I think that can be chalked up to the energy and single minded focus that young minds have since have not yet been bogged down with practicalities of jobs, bills and their own children. I know I still get latched onto ideas I just don't have the time or energy to focus on things so intensely.
