This is getting sooooo good.
Celaena is still that stubborn and spoiled "little girl", but, hey, a girl can have some hobbies!

In this book there are some important developments (especially in Celaena's and Dorian's powers) that will change the course of this war, and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I'm still not into this whole Celaena + Rowan thing. All I know is that this is a man who needs a woman to boss him around.

For the 4 stars (and not the 5 stars this story deserves): I think there were some things that weren't explained well... like, where's the context?

A book I have grown to love more and more with the introduction of favorite characters and hindsight of the story, its portrayal of grief, and the journey back to the light is beautiful. It gives new perspectives to each of the characters we’ve loved the previous two books, while paving the way for new stories! And it’s epic world-changing twists!

The bonus chapter for Heir of Fire (found in the Target exclusive Empire of Storms edition) in between chapter 45! It’s a perfect fit (later referenced in Queen of Shadows) and totally adds a new level of depth to the story! Especially for me, as Rowan was not my favorite for a while; but in hindsight like that

I fall in love with him & Aelin all over again!

As always, a bit of a slow lead up but wellll worth the wait! I love Rowan. I love Aelin. This book was such a great analysis of grief and loss alongside the supernatural and other-worldly. I cried, I gasped! I'm so glad our girl finally got a true friend and was able to come out of her grief on the other side of things. Only thing was that the witch chapters sure did drag. The book was brutal and unrelenting and so so good.
