An entertaining collection of modern adaptations of worldwide myths and stories. Especially in the first half, many of the love stories are built with the same elements: a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman falls passionately in love with a broad-chested man that finally sees her. So after a while that part didn't do much for me, but luckily the scenery changes throughout the book and the storytelling is done well, so I did enjoy reading it. I liked how original elements were referenced in the modernised adaptations, but it was even more interesting to learn about new stories and characters. All in all, this is a nice break in between any heavier reads, but I am especially curious to see what Babalola writes next (either in a book or on tv).
