This book made me so happy! These gorgeously written romantic myth retellings in small (short story) packages were the perfect balance of romance and empowerment.

What I loved:
- Generally, with short story collections, I find that there are some stories I love and others that I'd likely skip over in a re-read, but that was absolutely not the case with this one. While there are definitely stories that stood out to me and my tastes, everything in there was beautifully written and engaging.
- These myths are perfectly modernised, I didn't know all of the myths before starting this book, but the ones I did know I felt fit really well into these new settings and changes in the narrative.
- This book is unapologetic about how romantic it is. Sometimes modern romances have a habit of scoffing at themselves, and at the ideas they represent, but this book never did that. I adored the focus in pretty much every story on the idea of being seen and understood.
- Great length and pacing as well. Nothing felt rushed even though they were super quick short stories.
- That last short story had me crying!
What You May Not Love:
I loved this book a lot but there are definitely elements I can see not everyone would enjoy!
- Insta-love. There's lots of love at first sight in this one, which isn't usually my thing so I was surprised I enjoyed it so much, but the 'love at first sight' trope is super common in these myths so it makes sense for it to be so common in the stories. I also think it works because the stories are so short, it's not relying on you rooting for an insta-love scenario for over 400 pages of a novel. But, if you really can't stand insta-love you may not enjoy this one.
My only question remains...anthology TV series when?
