I loved this poetry collection so much. Red Summer lives in my consciousness as a time that I am both fascinated and horrified by. I love how poetry was used to document the events in Chicago that summer. Amazing collection!

This is an informative collection of poems that highlight the issues that Ewing saw in the 1922 report on the race war in Chicago. Truly enlightening. My favorite poem was ‘sightseers’ and thought it was very insightful.

Loved this collection of poetry thats in conversation with the 1922 report “The Negro in Chicago: A Study on Race Relations and a Race Riot.” The poems are in three sections: Before, What Happened, and After.
Both the excerpts from the aforementioned report and the poems themselves are especially relevant today.
