what to say next is a great book to look into the daily challenges of what is it like to be in the autism spectrum.
with her neurotypical husband, sarah nannery tackles challenges in the workplace, how she navigates personal & professional relationships, marriage & parenthood - which could be challenging for someone with ASD.
at a time where more and more people are being diagnosed with ASD, this book tells the important truths about what it takes to make it in a neurotypical world and still be true to yourself.

There are a lot things in this book that I spent years figuring out for myself and some fantastic strategies for dealing with situations that I'd figured out were problems for me, but never figured out a way to deal with. It was so nice to have someone explain especially work social situations in a way that my brain works and can figure out. It was also wonderful to read about strategies for raising a kid, since that's something that I hope to do someday. I'm so glad that this book exists for Autistic folks to be able to learn from someone else's experience.

This book was a lot more detailed and technical than I was expecting, which didn’t really work for me in a practical way because it felt very overwhelming. But I can see it being a great resource for someone who does benefit from going through different scenarios with a close analytical lens. At the very least, it was helpful for me to read a book about what daily life and interactions can be like for a person who is on the Autism spectrum.
