I was never able to finish this book (nor appreciate it) when I was younger, but I have found that Dracula is written quite well, and it was a perfect book to read in October. The story and characters are both believable and entertaining, and I would recommend this book to anyone who may be a fan of horror or classic vampire tails.

I'll be damned if I'm not a sucker for epistolary novels where science-minded characters are forced to do battle against individuals of cunning. Now, Dracula is nowhere near as sympathetic as Mary Shelley's Creature, but Stoker masterfully pulls along this tense narrative, even as it dips into the riveting act of locating shipped property through detective paperwork.
I raced through it in preparation for Nosferatu, but this is certainly one I will return to again.

Creo que mis expectativas me traicionaron un poco, pero eso no lo vuelve un mal libro, más bien, creo que esta muy bien logrado y que hace honor a su fama de ser un antes y un después en la literatura de horror.
Pd: Hay demasiados PERO Demasiados monólogo que pueden llegar a ser insoportable en momentos (especialmente por parte de Van Helsing).

Dracula is a book about anxieties and it turns out, the anxieties haven’t changed much from Victorian England to now. Read to reflect on questions like: What constitutes a monster? What constitutes a hero? How did vampires turn from evil creatures of the night to the sexy immortals of today?
5/5 for being more modern and relevant than I would have guessed.
