cute, fluffy romance! with a little spice! was the plot as fully developed as i had hoped? no. but it was the perfect story to get me through writing my undergrad honors thesis, and that's all i could ask for.

He is having the definition of a bad year. Game Six loss costing his team the Cup? Check. Getting arrested and ruining his image? Check. Almost getting run over after his car breaks down? Oh, look—a hat trick. His contract is up with the Carolina Comets this year, and he needs to get it together if he wants to stay with the team. He needs relaxation, not a relationship. But when he’s scrolling on a dating app and stumble across the pretty girl who almost ran him over, he knows he can’t let her walk away this time. Harper is funny, smart, and doesn’t care about hockey. He’s not supposed to be focusing on anything other than his career, yet he can’t get Harper off his mind.He knows he shouldn’t fall for her…but he thinks he already has.

The main reason I read this was because I wanted to use it as a little bit of research and to make researching hockey more enjoyable. It did make it enjoyable but I can’t say I learned a lot about hockey in the process. However, I did absolutely love the vibes that this book gave. It was brilliant and Harper is a slightly scary legend and I love that Colin was so onboard with all her interests and didn’t care that she wasn’t a huge hockey fan. He loved her for her and that is my favourite thing to read about in books!
