found this in a second-hand book corner. you have to appreciate how passionate Eliot feels about Becket and about honoring him.

This cheeky so-and-so we're aware it's certainly not peak THEATRE though I have a suspicion that this play would be improved exponentially if Eliot hit the big red button labelled 'CAMP'.

blah blah it's also very useful for a retrospective on the poems and there are lines spoken by the chorus which are genuinely among his very best & beautiful. Also we see the certainly-not-self-insert Thom(as à Becket) drop a few drafted lines from Burnt Norton before they were properly ironed out which is fun for me if nobody else

I have lain in the soil and criticised the worm
