Amanda created a great message for the youth, but it works well to inspire adults as well.

Beautrifully illustrated, uplifting, and encouraging. The book sends the message that each child is needed and can bring change to the world.

"I don't fear change coming/and so I sing along."

"There is hope where my change sings."

"There is love where my change sings."

"I show others tolerance/though it might take some courage.
I don't make a taller fence,/but fight to build a better bridge."

"We are the wave starting to spring/
For we are the change we sing./
We're what the world is becoming.
And we know it won't be long."

I had my nephew read this aloud to me, and it was a 10/10 experience for us.

I liked this book, and I liked that it had a rhythmic sound to it. It showed a little girl who could do anything and bring change when she believed. I think this could be used for a read aloud with an activity to follow talking about the book. I think it has the potential to not be super interesting for the kids, but if I help guide, I think it could be enriching.

Amanda Gorman writes a moving testament to inclusivity and embracing change. This beautiful story begins with one young girl playing her song with just a guitar, and as the story progresses, many different faces, voices, and instruments join her as a reminder that our diversity is what makes us great.
