I did not like how the male narrator voiced women. He made them all sound like they were 65 and smoke 3 packs of cigarettes a day.

A formulaic predictability I loved. Slice of life mixed with death.
“I actually think it’s greedy that humans expect the ones they love to love them back. They don’t expect it from books, or from movies, or from nature. Why do we expect it of people?” I’m dying. At the very fucking in. This concept has my souls now and I’m pissed about it.
give me a thousand books in this formula and I’ll be happy.

Enjoyable, manipulated and contrived relationships and murder. It has been a while since I read the first book so the connection was not obvious to me at first. This isn't really a mystery as you follow the murderers and the detective at the same time, but it's fun just the same.

The Kind Worth Saving, follow up to The Kind Worth Killing is a quick read that I would describe as generally okay. Unlike the first book, which I really enjoyed, this one took a while to get the premise going, while also having a number of duller spots. There is still some good sections and it's fun to see how some characters have progressed further, but without its short length, I may not have stuck around to the end.
