Boring (as expected) and I feel like the whole premise of the book was articulated in the first few chapters. It left me feeling like I just wanted to get to the end and when I skipped to the last part (part 3), I realized I didn't want to continue. Very millennial hatred core.

The main character was so incredibly miserable with her own life and projected that onto everyone that she came into contact with that I couldn't stand reading any more.

So I do get why this book has some good reviews considering how well it is written and especially how authentic the dialogue is. BUT - and this is a huge but. I absolutely had the worst time reading this because I resented every person in this book. Every single character trait they have triggered me in a way that I felt uncomfortable on every page. I know that I could have simply stopped but the reviews being like “aw this book is so funny and a bit dark but so funny” gave me hope that there will be a twist at some point and I’ll like it then but actually it just gets worse and worse.
If you are struggling with money anxiety/existential fears, addiction, depression/suicidal thoughts or toxic relationships this book will likely not be for you. Halle Butler takes it to a level that is far beyond humor in my opinion and leaves you depressed, angry and exhausted after finishing

Megan and Randy walked home together. Megan started crying and Randy held her hand. They fought again in the morning. Sunday was a generally bad far. Megan smoked a lot and sat outside on the curb and fantasized about fugue states.
