Spends a little too much time creating atmosphere at setting up the specifics of carny life (and reminding me King may have a bit of a woman problem), but by gosh it kicks in with that Stephen King magic that’s too sincerely felt to be called schmaltz once we get to know Annie and Mike. The finale/reveal at the end is also enough that it actually got my heart pounding, and the coda was so lovingly done I was a bit in danger of tearing up.

A surprisingly traditional tale of menace and youthful heroism from Stephen King. Undoubtedly nostalgic if that fairground world is the nostalgia you have. .
