Written very colloquially; not a mark against it objectively, but personally, I wish it was written in a more clinical way. I don’t mind it written in first person, but the constant asides were distracting and made it seem….almost less trustworthy? Like tumblr-post-y.

I read this in one afternoon and it was fantastic. I received my formal autism diagnosis well into adulthood and after many years of therapy. I’d recommend this book to both practitioners looking for a primer on how to adapt their methods to suit autistic thinking styles and for autistic people who’ve long felt misunderstood.
