Wouldn’t necessarily call this a Thriller. The reviews were so great but I had to talk myself out of dnf-ing this book so many times. Wasn’t a fan and couldn’t wait to be done. The ending was alright but it wasn’t my cup of tea at all.
It pains me to rate this book 2 stars because I am a fan of Will Dean. I follow his YouTube channel and I really enjoyed First Born and The Last One.
This novel is about the horrors of human trafficking. I love the fact that Will Dean is bringing light to this horrific practice that is plaguing our world right now. My issue with the book is that the first 85% percent of the book reads like an autobiography. There wasn't anything "thrilling" about it, until the end of the book. That may have been by design, but I was expecting a thriller, like his other novels and was disappointed.
Upon further reflection, I have decided to change my rating to 3 stars. Again, I respect the author's courage to write about the important topics that need to be brought in the light, and it's my fault that I didn't know what to expect with this book. It is just very different from the other Will Dean books I have read.

4.5⭐️ my heart is still beating fast at this. I loved every second of this book. The resilience to survive is incredible. We truly don’t know what we’re capable of doing until we’re in a grave situation.
