If you're intending to read this book, I'd HIGHLY suggest you not read the synopsis at all because there are spoilers in it... I went in totally blind because I just needed a short read & this book was less than 300 pages long.

It may be short, but I'm telling you, this read will actually mess you up mentally & emotionally 😬💀 At one point I just had to take a break because it was so difficult to read. If you've ever watched the movie "Room" and you love it, then you'll definitely enjoy this one because it's your classic claustrophobic thriller 🥶

I actually read this in a day, because that's how fast-paced this book is & the whole storyline was very UNIQUE, I've never read anything like it before! If I was reading a physical copy, I think I would have crumpled pages as I read because the male character really frustrates me 😖💀 If you're looking for something messed up & dark to read about, pick this one up (at your own discretion) 👀

Um disturbing. It’s a short book and I read the whole thing in one sitting, not because it’s a short book but because I couldn’t put it down. Though disturbing and sad, the ending was satisfying.

After reading all of the 5 star reviews I thought I was reading a different book. I didn’t get along with this one. The topic is obviously a very real and heartbreaking problem which makes it a tough read at times. However, it is so repetitive that it takes away from the situation. The first half of the book is all about how broken her ankle is and cooking on the aga. I ended up scan reading a lot of it because nothing really happens and it got so boring. It was very predictable although there was one twist. The ending picks up the pace and tension a bit but still very predictable. I found this book very similar to Room which I also wasn’t a massive fan of so if you enjoyed that then this may be the book for you.

I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

HOLY MOLY. I have never been more tense reading a book in my life. I love thrillers and this one had me on the edge of my seat!

Jane is trapped. Jane is not her real name, but what her captor Len calls her. She has been house bound and married to this horrible man for seven years now after being trafficked into the UK. She has tried to escape in the past and failed, but now that she is pregnant, she vows to have a good life for her baby. Jane is making plans the best she can when Len imprisons another woman on his isolated farm. Time is running out and Jane has to save herself, this woman and her baby.

This is a BRUTAL and claustrophobic thriller. I was so worried for Jane and invested in her story. I listened to this on audiobook and the narrator (Sarah Lam) did a phenomenal job with the pacing and horror. This only not 5⭐️s because I wanted a little more backstory. The blurb says this is “Room” meets “Misery” - and it is a spot on comparison. Highly recommend for thriller lovers!

The content was not for me. I have one “do not cross” line, and it’s (grape). This book leapt over my line.
