I appreciated Lysa's insights into biblical forgiveness. Overall, the final chapter, a small study of what scripture actually says about forgiveness was the best part. I wish this book would have been more centered on this section, with her anecdotes coming more clearly from that center.

That said, my 3 stars come only from my opinion on its organization. This book is a valuable tool for anyone looking for understanding of forgiveness--what it is, what it is not, and what it actually looks like in practical terms. It's accessible and convicting.

Grieving is your worst nightmares come to life. How do we forgive those who have caused us some of our deepest pain? How do we move on and see it for good? Well if you’re not sure that’s possible, Lysa will help you figure it out.

Had some great messages including:
- "If it's hysterical, it's historical," and
- Forgiveness is different than reconciliation.

I appreciated the author's perspective as a Christain trying to learn how to forgive rather than just "going through the motions" of forgiveness. As a non-Christain, some of the references to the Bible were interesting as long as they were explained. Occasionally the author assumed Biblical knowledge of certain stories, and those sections went over my head.

However, this book outlined how to make forgiveness a regular practice. It explained how to let go of past hurts and bitterness and instead embrace emotional depth and vulnerability (within healthy boundaries).

This book is helpful in identifying some things I'm hanging in to and need to forgive, and giving some ways to work through the things I already knew I was having trouble forgiving. There were a few chapters that don't apply to my situation, and I would have liked to see more of the Bible verses directly talking about forgiveness pulled into these chapters.

There's probably some valuable insights to be found in this book but I didn't realize it would be Christian in language and tone with so many references to God, Jesus and scripture. That's just not my cup of tea.
