“It was good. It was kind of… it was good especially at the end of the main book when they were at the pool and we realized the hook was just a comic strip and Brooke and Sam went missing and Sam was Dr Maniac and Brooke was the Scarlet Starlet.”

Not my favorite in the Horrorland Saga, mainly because the whole story was just his comic. There was no spooky element, no supernatural surprise until you get to Horrorland and it doesn't explain how the characters came to life.

Robby Schwartz loves creating stories. He draws up these horror comics, but one day they come to life… snatching his friends away, one by one… or do they? This was probably this reader’s favourite book of the series so far. The twists and turns were really good. Following an unreliable narrator was fun because we never knew what was real or not. At first we thought we knew, but the way this ended left the reader shocked, a real good turn of events. It may have been slightly predictable, but this reader loved it non the less. Dr. Maniac followed Robby to Horrorland, where he met the rest of the characters from the previous books. This part of the book lacked a little and dragged out longer than the others it felt. The reader is still curious how everyone at Horrorland will come together. The reader assumes they are all going to take down the Horrors holding them there, but we’ll see. The characters were fun, the overuse of “I’m Dr. Maniac” was kinda annoying because he said it so frequently, as if the reader would forget who he was. But Robby had a really active imagination that truly brought his character to life better. We got to see the type of person he was based on his comics. The secondary characters were a little more flat, probably because of the way they were used, they were meant to be, but we could have gotten a little more from them. Overall, a very fun read.
