Don't You Dare

CE Ricci

4.01 AVERAGE

“But you’ve always known where the cracks were. Just like you’ve always known how to protect them. Fill them with pieces of yourself."

Aspen and Keene are just gorgeous in this story of best friends, finding your identity and sexuality, trust and soul mates. This is just a beautifully crafted love story. This didn't have the anger and aggression of River and Rain. Instead it was the story of two men who already loved one another learning to fall in love as lovers. And that's a whole lot of love ❤️

This wouldn't be a CE Ricci book without some angst and heartwrenching emotion. But as a reader you know these two will overcome and their ending is well deserved and super heartwarming.

CE Ricci is a specialist in super steamy MM romances and Don't You Dare doesn't disappoint. Aspen and Keene ooze chemistry and their love for each other is gentle and exploring. I loved how they fit and explore together and how quickly their possessiveness and emotion grows into something even steamier. A perfect MM love story.

Why did I wait for so long to read this - I’m kicking myself for not reading it sooner!  Best friends to lovers is not usually my jam but Aspen & Keene were just everything.  Their game of don’t you dare brought something totally unexpected into their lives, and I loved seeing them explore what this meant for themselves & their friendship.

The care and tenderness that Aspen & Keene show each other was just a joy to read, and it definitely had me swooning.  The third act break up broke me, but I’m glad we got to see them figuring out if their relationship was worth fighting for - and I appreciated seeing Aspen grovelling.

This was an emotional, heartfelt and adorable story - I can’t wait to read more by CE Ricci in the future!

This was fun, if you want a book you can read without thinking too much this is right for you!

These boys were sweet and hot hot and real. At first I was « what kind of name is Aspen » but now I wanna steal this for my own writings.

It was too long at times and mostly because I didn’t understand how we actually still got in that third act melodrama given where they were in their relationship.

SPOILERS HERE ☠️

I think Aspen got the raw deal in order to get to that point. I would actually have loved for Keene to start what was inevitable and then for both to have to angst their way out. I don’t really understand where Aspen’s fears came from so it tells me he wasn’t gonna actually mess things up.
