via NYPL - very strong book from Manuele Fior, beginning with the first meeting of teen lovers Piero and Lucia then following them each into separate adulthoods, the spectre of their youthful relationship remaining a presence through it all. Sweet, sad, beautifully watercolored, eminently human.

If Criterion Collection movies could be graphic novels, this would have been in the first 100 titles they licensed.

It's funny how life works. How little control we have in some events that change our lives completely. How people grow apart only to get their paths crossing again. How feelings change over time and how they can also change in a blink of an eye.

It's difficult to stay resilient to all these adversities but in the end there is little choice but to accept and endure through the storm.

In my life, I grew to believe we have some control over some decisons but there is also a destiny that is beyond our control, so whatever happens, happens and we need to be ready to make the best of it or simply endure it the best we can.

I really enjoyed this story. Fabulous writing. Masterfully illustrated. Gorgeous colour pallette.

I really loved to see Pierre and Lucy getting back together, not to be one again, but simply to experience a joyful moment once again. I can't shake how wrong some events are but it's difficult to say no to our hearts.

Honestly, i'm so disappointed. i wanted to read this before watching the movie but if the movie is this? no, thank you. the concept could have been interesting but it turned into lust and sex and people being messy without the depth

A unique framing for the narrative and beatiful art work attempts to make this stand out from others, but ultimately it tells a cliche story with unknowable and unlikeable characters.
