I found this book difficult to follow as the illustrations didn’t always make clear who was talking. The characters didn’t have very much dimension and the story would move forward in time so quickly that it was not satisfying to pursue the outcome.

Magnificent piece of art. The story is as good as any novel, while each panel is a tiny painting worthy of any gallery. Not a comic for children. A graphic novel for adults.
The watercolours were overwhelmingly dark and not very interesting. Rarely were the paintings effective at expressing emotion. Mostly sadness. Opportunities lost, lives wasted. Story progression was unsatisfying. If you're already depressed and want to go lower, this is the book for you.
The storytelling was decent, if abit dry. But the art. My god it's incredible. I found myself in awe of it at each panel. And I knew what the style was like going in!!
