This book was a bit underwhelming after the first. The pacing felt slow/drawn out, which was impressive, considering it's only 192 pages.

The format of every other chapter being a dream with a different guy got stale and repetitive quickly, and I didn't like that most of the character and relationship development happened through those, considering the characters haven't yet worked out that the dreams were "real" experiences.

While there was some angst, I feel like the angsty potential of the series got underutilised with this storyline and it overall just felt like kind of a filler book? It's also disappointing that the book ends with the guys and Cassia being forcibly separated, considering we just read an entire book based on that trope. I want to see them together and pining, damn it!

I'll still read the next book to see how it ends but I'm not going into it with high hopes.

Very annoyed by the name inconsistency. Zane is both Zane and Frost?

Cassia goes through a lot in this second book in the series, but her four fae princes also go through a lot and to get their Queen back, they might just make their biggest mistake yet. Full of tension and steamy dreams, this story and world keep you glued to the page. Learning more about this world, leaves more questions and is Cassia "just" a human? The sass and humor from this Queen in waiting is a pure pleasure to read!

Just couldn't get into it, half way through and the MCs are only together in dreams.

Ugh Lacey what are you doing to me with Cassia being so wishy, washy with her insecurities. I get why she is thinking the way she is, but c'mon let Sulien tell her the truth about the potion lol. Man is this story so flippin good. I am so hooked on this story and these character's. I can't get enough. I just wish the dang girl would just give them a chance. This does pickup where Cassia has gone missing, which was due by her own self when she thought she was running away only to get kidnapped with no one being the wiser and leaving the princes struggling as to what happened to her. This does end on a cliffhanger, so hopefully in the next book we get some answers to the puzzle of Cassia, because there's so many question's left unanswered.

Blood of the Ruthless is the second book in the Court of Faes series. This cannot be read as a standalone!

Omg!! After that cliffhanger from the last book, Thinking that she is a fae, Cassia finds herself kidnapped by the humans. The guys must put aside their differences and find a way to get her back...even though things are going to be more intense. There's high tensions but also growth between Cassia and her Princes. I am totally loving this series!! Definitely excited for more!!
