What can I say? This novel was absolutely beautiful and unforgettable!
I'm not the biggest fan of art so I had never heard of Charlotte Salomon prior to reading this, but I can now say that she deserves so much more recognition. Reading about her horrendous childhood and fight for survival during the Nazi regime is absolutely eye-opening and heartbreaking. Her pure talent managed to capture such raw emotion and her art is so important and beautiful.
