Interesting in a very professorial way: like I would visit office hours to hear her ramble. Zadie Smith deftly captures the anxiety and the nagging desire to produce that plagued us in the early days of the pandemic.
So good. I read this from the library but I am going to go out and buy a physical copy so I can return to these amazing essays.

absolutely amazed and blown away by zadie smith's sharp writing. this was my first experience with any smith book, but I must say that after this, I'll definitely be checking her out. her writing is sharp, poignant, and the perfect encapsulation of those first days of lockdown. it's a necessary read for writers or soon-to-be writers for she knows how to explain and perfectly sum up the feelings of a writer, but it is also a compulsory read for an average person because her writing is nearly perfect.
