(3.5) I have mixed thoughts about this, because on one hand I think Smith's observations are worth reading. But I'm not sure this needed to be a book—these could just as easily have been blog posts or Substack pieces. That doesn't make them bad, but if I hadn't gotten this at a thrift store for $1, I might've felt a little cheated.

In other words: worth reading, not buying new.

This small collection of essays written at the beginning of the Pandemic is oddly comforting and a beautiful read.

3 5 stars. I mean I enjoyed it but I'm not sure if it stod out to me, like I cant really remember the essays.

Zadie Smith perfectly captures the essence of the questions we have all been grappling with in these strange times. This tiny collection of essays makes one feel that they are in like company.
