I love a bridgerton book!!! I will say that the changes made in the show were much needed and I wish they had been original in the story plot

Okay, so I totally skipped the first book because I watched Bridgerton and I didn't think I could handle another second of Daphne and Simon being the main characters. And well... I have a soft spot for Anthony. Maybe it's the sideburns? I'm also a sucker for enemies-to-lovers, and this was one of the few books that I think does a good job of shifting the characters from hating each other to respecting each other to liking each other to loving each other. Were there...questionable things done in this book? Yes! Did it still feel a lot less toxic than Daphne and Simon? YES! Kate and Anthony are both self-aware enough that it made the story intriguing and kept the pace for the book. Quinn did the thing I disliked the most about the first story (spoilers), but I'm not a fan of the rushed/forced marriage. But...I understand...sex has to be had in a book like this and Quinn is reading the historical room! All in all, I had a good time reading this. It was quick and fun, and I hope to see Colin bully Anthony this much in the Netflix adaption's season two.

I generally liked the plot but thought some of the scenes were very cringe and not faithful to how certain characters would actually react, but enemies to lovers is always a fun story to read
