This is a tale of adventure and courage and hilarity that has been enjoyed by many generations of people.......except for me.
I appreciated the humorous aspects of both the characters and plot-it had me laughing out loud some times-but found the actual details and events of this book to be quite un-fantastic.
However, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a short, fast, easy read that is sure to leave you laughing out loud at some points.

Whimsical, light, and fun. I haven’t read a book this quickly in a long time - and I’d read it again in a heartbeat!

I genuinely enjoyed this classic short story. Listened to the excellent narration by Tim Piggott-Smith.
I love the idea of its publication - it was serialised to coincide with Fogg’s hoped arrival date.

This classic seemed more like a children's book than anything else. It also seemed a bit dated in two ways: In the nineteenth century travelling around the world might have seemed fantastical to readers, but today it seems rather commonplace. Also the way non-Europeans are talked about seems outdated in the usual, colonial-minded way.

A fun adventure story, well told with some interesting characters. At times didn't really grip me but nice as a casual read. Cool read for lockdown, too

A classic that represents the time it was written in.

It is very well written, with somewhat flat characters however and the plot does seem to.miss certain tension at times even despite the incredible time pressure.
