It was a really fun book, but not so suspenseful that I couldn't move on with my life until I finished. The only negative thing I have to say is the misconceptions about my church in one of the chapters, but it was pretty funny to read.

Another book which I felt like I had read it because it seemed so familiar, but really I knew nothing about the characters - only the premise. Really enjoyed the quirky events and the outcome, while never in doubt, was still full of tension.
4.5/5

I remember almost nothing about this book, except for something vague about elephants. I think that is the extent of the subtlety I grasped at age 7, which probably means I should read this again!
Phileas Fogg embarks on a trip around the world with his servant Passepartout after he agrees to a wager dependent upon whether or not he can make it in 80 days. I read this after watching the recent PBS Masterpiece miniseries adaptation of this. I can see why this book was exciting when it first came out as it features many modes of transportation that were the height of technology at the time, but I think it is kind of dull now. I much preferred the miniseries which makes some great changes from the book.
