Jordan did it again! It was definitely a good book, although you could definitely tell it was in the middle of a series because it had one of the "middle of the series" slumps of almost circular very incremental action. Other than that, it was still good and as engaging as usual!

This book took a long time to get started, even though it is in the middle of the series. Major plot advancing events did not happen until over half way through the book. Although several important events did happen, including Egwene coming into her own a bit as the Amrylin and Elaida is beginning to get her comeuppance. Sammael may be dead, but I'm not so sure. Rand has finally admitted his love for Min, and Elayne and Aviendha. And Cadsuane has finally shown up. Lan has returned and the girls not only found the bowl, but found a "tower" of cast-offs from the White Tower.

Ok, so the first half of this installment in Wheel of Time is slow as hell. I had taken a break for 2 months from the series to finish uni, so I suppose all the re-introduction to characters and stuff that happened was slightly necessary? But good lord, we do not need a 42 page prologue! Especially when it just re-hashes events from Sevanna's perspective (which is really boring).

Perrin's chapters were among my least favorite (discounting Sevanna's which I may have *shifty eyes* ...skipped) mainly because he mopes a lot and doesn't do a great deal.

Egwene is fast becoming much more awesome than I first thought. So that's good.

Nynaeve and Elayne are still looking for the fucking bowl of winds but after two books of their long ass Ebou Dar chapters it finally pays off in the second half of the book. There are some definite hilarious high points and awesome moments in store for them.

Mat... is hilarious.

Rand is still Rand and I love him for it. He's my favorite character and he has so much shit to deal with that I can't help but love him even more for trying to deal with it. Min is great as well.

So overall a great edition to the series. I liked it better than the last one, because shit actually happened.

The only issue I really have is the ending. It just sort of fizzled. I was ready for the whole FUCK YEAH FORSAKEN BATTLE!! that was going to happen but in the end it was just a bit... meh.

But still awesome enough for 4 stars! :D
