Better than I thought it would be. I don't know how people consider this part of the slog. Might be my favorite book so far, since The Great Hunt.

Objectively a bad book. Over written. Too much extraneous content. Next to no progress in plot and similarly little character development.

And the weird battle of the sexes vibes continue to drain the life from my body. But this time it felt like it was on steroids.

Willing myself to last until the Sanderson era, where maybe the pacing will be better and, even if it’s still ridiculously bloated, the writing will be more efficient.

The direction the plot is travelling in is exciting! Although the last 100
Pages felt like three whole novels in one, and the previous billion pages felt like a strung out prologue. I would just like the plot to start travelling! Even just a tiny bit. A teeny tiny bit.

Amazing as always

Man, rating this is tough. This is definitely in the slog, but I actually thought it kept my attention and was easier to read than previous books even if nothing really happened. But there's an issue that keeps me from rating it too high.

this is the second book in a row with consent issues. And this one was more serious and they never called it what it was. But also it wasn't portrayed as good. Just ugh
