2 hours 48 minutes - Definitely the best book in this series, never a dull moment, and the perfect conclusion to the series. It has a perfect blend of action and emotion, something not featured as much before in the series. I love the final scene in Olympus, that scene as always stuck with me from the first time I read this, and I love it just as much now.

This book is the perfect ending to the PJO series.

It's hard to review without spoiling, but I think I can manage.

The low moments are LOW, but the high moments are HIGH. The Percabeth is A+. All the friendships and relationships otherwise shown are perfectly portrayed. The ending is satisfying. The characters are true to themselves and manage to be funny (I say manage because I wouldn't be able to if I went through what they did).

What else can I say? It's a great book.

After rereading:

Damn you Rick! I cried so many times over this stupid book. Yeah sure it’s a perfect ending to the series and I love the Percabeth but oh my god(s). Rip my heart out why don’t you.

I hated Luke with my whole being for four whole books and then you gotta go and make him the hero and make me like him. I felt so bad for him. I was rooting for him to fight Kronos off and survive even though I knew he couldn't. I CRIED when he died, even though a few books earlier I was laughing when he got hurt!!!!

And all the others that died. I cried every single time. Even for frickin Ethan Nakamura. Jesus, especially Beckendorf and Silena!!!!! They deserved so much better! (When Silena died, I thought 'I can't wait for Luke to die' and then when he did I was a mess. What the heck, Rick.

Percy was so powerful and it was amazing. He didn't seem as innocent and stupid this time around. When he knocked down Hades, I was so pumped! And when he had his own hurricane, awesome! When he sat on Poseidon's throne, it was great.

Speaking of the gods, I think they're assholes as a general principle, but they were awesome. Poseidon was great especially, I loved him like I always do. He's one of the best parents of them all.

I REREAD AGAIN, I CRIED AGAIN, ALL I CAN SAY IS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Normally, when you come to the end of a series, you get a little build up before you come to the final battle. Not with this one! Most of this book is really just nonstop action, with a few pauses for story development (and character development). You'd think that maybe the action gets a little tiring, but it really doesn't. Riordan paces it in a way that gives the readers a break (just like Percy and his friends get a break). It's really well written in that aspect.

It is the end of a series (but we now know that we're getting another Percy book!), but there's room left for other stories. And man, did Riordan write other stories. I'm glad so many kids like this series so much, and I can't wait to continue on further than I made it the first time.
