Not good, which was disappointing, because I really enjoyed Warcross. It would have been two stars, but it got slightly, almost interesting at the end. The writing is bland. The events in the plot are frequently uninteresting. Not a single character has a personality. It honestly just felt like it needed to be edited a few more times. The author’s writing has definitely gotten better, and I would recommend skipping this series and checking out her later work.
It's dark, really dark. I am excited to continued on with the series though. I really want to to know how Adelina will become a villain and if I will grow to dislike her.
Marie Lu has done it again ladies and gentlemen. I read this book in less than 24 hours and loved it! I really loved how the majority of it was told from Adelina's point of view who isn't your normally heroine. Actually she isn't a heroine at all some might even say she is the "villian". Personally I loved it and that epilouge gosh I need the next book so I read more about Mauve! Read this book and once you finish it if you have not read the legend series clear your calendar until you finish them!!!!
Very interesting concept. The world building is impeccable. Very interesting character.

It's fine. This book feel quite hollow, as if it's missing something. The character arc ends in an unsatisfying place, and I wish the author leaned more into the dark side of the main character.

I DNFed this a few years ago but I’m glad I continued as the plot started to get more interesting after the first half.

I really enjoyed this YA novel, especially for the fact that the main character was kind of a lunatic. I've really gotten bored of novels where the main character in just a blank canvas for the reader to paint themselves onto. Not so the case with The Young Elites. Adelina is always on edge, just one step away from killing everyone in the room. It was refreshing to read a book like this, and I eagerly await the next installment.
I didn't enjoy it as much as Legend but I'm still interested enough to read the sequel.
