This book was okay. Sophy, the main character, is almost divorced when she gets word that her husband is dead. Sophy's life is a mess, partly from the hand she's been dealt, and partly from her own choices. Reading this book is like having a friend whose life goes from one dramatic event to another; it's fun when she calls and you get to hear all the gory details, but you sigh in relief when she finally hangs up. Sophy's world is an interesting place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there.

I liked it okay. I thought it could have been shorter. I got a bit impatient with Sophy and didn't always think her actions rang true. Really good writing, though.

A quick-moving, interesting story with compelling characters. There are a few abrupt shifts in tone that I found jarring; what begins in a kind of light, comic feel quickly darkens. The writing was a bit uneven in places, but overall, a good read.

One of those books I keep reading but find I don't really like any of the characters. Everyone just seems sad....and the book. Well, its over.

This was an engaging read that was both intelligent and interesting. It was not predictable nor cliche. I would highly recommend it.
