I really liked the smile/sun stuff at the beginning - definitely can relate to seeing people as rays of sunshine & other celestial entities sometimes

First off, thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McNeel Publishing for granting me access to this book ahead of
publication date.
Acceptance. Hope. Tranquility.
This collection of poems evokes the feeling of a deep breath and calmness surrounding you. The author did an impeccable job putting these three emotions into words while creating a collection focused on self-love and devotion.
I would definitely recommend this book to all the poetry lovers out there!

I enjoyed several poems, but none of them sparked anything. Nonetheless, the poems are relatable and touching. I enjoyed the illustrations but enjoyed the writing style less. I recommend this book to readers looking for a gateway into poetry or readers of contemporary poetry. It's simplistic and easy to consume.
Thank you to Andrews McMeel for sending me a copy.

This is one of the most simplistic and straightforward collections I’ve read - really stripped down, with no frills or gimmicks. The only other book of poetry I’ve read that I can say that about it Bluets by Maggie Nelson, but the similarities between the two end there. Serenity is a soft easing into the emotions we all experience, whereas Bluets holds your eyelids open and makes you stare at the human condition through both its beauty and its ugliness. Serenity touches on things such as love and loss, but it’s ultimately heavily steeped in hope. That’s one of the things that made this such a pleasant read. I loved it, and I can’t wait to read everything else F.S. Yousaf has written!
