This story is told in three voices - a young girl whose older sister has gone missing, a man who moves to a small town at a difficult time in his life and a woman at the end of her life who is still thinking of a time 30 years ago when her life crossed with the man, then a boy, mentioned earlier. It's a little suspenseful, but more a deep look at the inner lives of three interesting characters.

Do not feel like the plot 'reveal' paid off that much but love the setting and writing

A lovely little book in which not too much happens but it’s great anyways.

Slow. After the third unnecessary (I mean are they ever?) fatphobic comment I stopped reading.

Enjoyed the book. I’m not sure how real the central plot point feels, but it is well told and the characters have depth.

The characters had nothing really going for them, and usually I don't mind multiple POVs. But this one jumped between 3rd person and 1st person as well which threw me off. The story also is not told in a linear fashion and it made what little I could manage to follow even harder to keep up with. Read for a book club, but won't be reading anything by Mary Lawson again.
