I like that the girls in these books are human. Cece isn't extremely likeable at the start. She's self absorbed and spoilt. But by then end she's grown and I liked her. The historical story was as usual brilliant.

Still loving this series. I just have to know what’s going on with Pa Salt??? I think I enjoyed this one a hair more than Storm sister and Shadow sister.

Cece was my least favourite sister from the get go - I hated that she overshadowed Star and that she held Star back from living her life. Having read Star’s story, I understood Cece a little more, but still didn’t want to know about her.

I only picked this up because it was the next in the series, and I’d rather peel my nails off than miss a book. But boy was I glad I stuck to it.

Although Cece is a bit insufferable, certainly giving “pick me” vibes and more than a smattering of internalised misogyny, Kitty’s story had me bawling.

I know that I cry a lot in books, but how can anyone read this story and not absolutely implode
