Fantastic book for anyone with an interest in science and artificial intelligence. A true telling of the history, and potential future, of computer science giving credit where credit is due.

I'm not really sure of the point of this book. It's less informative than other books I've read on similar topics, but also doesn't seem to share any particularly interesting or original opinions or ideas. The history sections are long and repetitive and it feels like being back in school. I hoped the author would draw it all together better at the end but it just drifted on from topic to topic.

There were some details that bothered me. For example, when describing the metaverse she seems to think we'll all be able to create our own virtual realities as we choose, living in luxury for example, when in my opinion everything clearly points to us having to pay real money for that (look at in-game purchases now).

And the idea that "no one, at the end of life, regrets love" is just daft.
