Only this fabulous author could entice me to read a high school romance. Every word she writes is golden and this angsty story of Dash and Peggy was top notch.

Good. Not my favorite from Ella Fields, but I still enjoyed it. I liked Dash and Peggy together, but Dash got on my nerves a bit.

Quick Summary: A young love/first love story

My Review: Kiss and Break Up by Ella Fields is book one in the Magnolia Cove series.

About the Book: Dash and Peggy had grown up together. They had always been best friends. They were both so different from each other, and yet it worked. When feelings of attraction emerged and curiosities were explored in a more mature way, neither knew how to properly navigate what was happening.

About the Conflict: Young love, raging hormones, blurred lines, teen antics, angsty interactions, social betrayals, peer pressure, family dysfunction, and trust codes between friends would totally sum up this story. Kiss and Break Up was, quite frankly, an honest glimpse and what goes on with T/NAs. It was a compelling story that proved to be more than interesting, due to its realism.

My Final Say: This book deals with mature subjects. It is not appropriate for younger YAs.

Rating: 4/5
Recommend: Yes
Audience: T/NA
Series: Yes
Special Note: Petting and parking, Sexual content, Drinking, Profanity, Peer pressure/bullying/harassment

Sweet Stars

If you are looking for a friends to lover's romance this Gem is for you!

Firstly i have to say i Adore the cover its brilliant with this story. Looks like a note that's been thrown across the classroom!

Peggy and Dash Have been neighbors and best friends from potty training, The author introduces us to this fun and pivotal relationship from the word go.

After Getting her Braces of and giving her locks a new Look, Peggy bumps into Byron a Popular boy at her school. He show's Interest by asking her if she is attending an upcoming party.

As things Progress with Byron even Willa's and Daphne's help cant get her over her feeling so inexperienced - Enter Dash the BFF with tons of Mastery to help out, without feeling nothing.

Obviously this is where the story starts to go from a happy peaceful friendship to road bumps.

Dash is a very difficult Character as he Is arrogant and belittles things easily, other than Peggy.
Peggy in Naive and sometimes a little stubborn but shes kind. loved the relationship she had with her mum.

Dash's Boys and Peggy's Girls, Had my always comparing them to the Pink Ladies and the T birds, Dash and Peggy being Danny and Sandy! From Biking to Daphne as the Rizzoish character And Raven As Kiniki.

Its probably only in my head but i loved the comparison!

After Both Peggy and Dash Acknowledge there is more than friendship between them a lot of heart break and angst goes down.

“Who the hell do you think you are?” “Yours, but apparently, it’s taking some time for you to get the memo.”

It was a great Read took me back to high school for a few days!

Ella Fields just recently caught my attention with her book Pretty Venom. So when the chance to review her newest offering came up, I jumped at the chance.

Typically, I’m not a fan of high school romances, most of them are a little too clean for me. But Kiss and Break Up is more a New Adult book than a YA book, so I was able to get over that pretty quickly.

This story was pretty good, some parts seemed a little drawn out and dramatic, but all in all, I really liked it. It kept me interested and turning the pages.

I look forward to reading more of Ella’s books.

*WARNING: this review contains blasphemy and bad language. If you can't deal with that, move along - it's about to get very sweary up in this motherfucker*

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD...
I need a stiff drink, some kind of therapy and a fucking smoke after reading this!

I'm no stranger to Ella's artistry. She has a gift - one she uses to rip you apart, stomp on vital organs and then (some how) piece you back together. This book was no exception.

"Love, I’d discovered, was something that multiplied. With every kiss and every touch, it continued to change shape as we continued to fall".

SERIOUSLY!? How can someone write such perfection?
So many quotes like this throughout the book that I was addicted.
I needed the next page more than my morning coffee. Which, (by the way) is now only 3 hours away because... well, I couldn't sleep until I finished. I have discovered there is indeed a 4am 😆

Peggy - so sweet, innocent and so under-fucking-prepared. It was glorious to watch her grow, watch her fall. Even the heartache was beautiful.

Dash - ugh. I can't even begin to describe my feelings for him... He screwed with my head and broke my fucking heart... wait, I mean Peggy's heart.
I'm not completely sure I've forgiven him for the shitstorm he created.

But I love him.

How could you not when he says sweet things like:
“No time with you is wasted even when we’re breaking".

POOF! There goes my panties...

There are not enough stars (or profanities that I can spew) to express my deep appreciation and love for this story.

❤️💛💚💙💜❤️💛💚💙💜❤️💛💚💙

If you haven't read it, you are missing out on some magical fucking shit right here

I really liked this book! I thought Peggy was a great character. I liked her spunk, and I really feel like she grew throughout the book. The side characters were great too! There was a lot of drama among the side characters, but it didn’t detract from the overall plot at all. Instead, it added to it and just did a really good job to set up potential future books (assuming that’s the author’s goal? But anyways, HIGHLY recommend!

Dashiell Thane wasn’t a nice guy.
He was an abrasive, demanding, conniving, intolerable brat.
Yet somehow, we’d been best friends our whole lives.
Until our senior year when I finally decided to dip my toes into the dating pool.

All it took was one kiss for jealousy, lies, and betrayal to sweep in and propel us heart first into dizzying, hostile depths.

You’re not supposed to kiss your best friend.
You’re definitely not supposed to kiss your best friend while you’re dating someone else.
And the absolute worst thing you could do is fall for your best friend.
Unless, of course, you want to ruin everything.
