A great primer & introduction to modern gender theories. The use of illustrations helps make the explanations more visual and easier to gender. In addition to the Further Reading section at the end, the constant use of both the images and names of theorists/researchers gives the reader places to continue their personal deeper dive into the subject matter.

"Gender" von Meg-John Barker und Jules Scheele ist eine gute Einführung in das komplexe Thema "Gender". Dabei werden diese kurz und bündig erklärt, währenddessen genug Info und Zusatzmaterial, Namen und Quellen genannt werden, um sich genauer mit dem Thema auseinandersetzen zu können. Es spricht u.a. den Unterschied zwischen Gender und biologischem Geschlecht (im englischen: Sex), Race und Klassensysteme, Geschichte, Intersexualität, Two-Spirit u.v.m. an. Somit liefert es einen Einblick in eine neue Denkensweise, schafft ed dabei aber nicht überfordernd zu sein.
Meine Meinung:
Vorallem gefiel mir, dass viele Wege genannt wurden um sich über Themen weiter zu informieren. Um wirklich alles verstehen zu können wird dieses Buch nicht reichen, aber es liefert einen Einblick in eine Denkensweise außerhalb des stereotypischen Cis-heteronormalen Denkens.

This is just the perfect book if you want to learn about gender. It's absolutely fantastic. It makes you think, it might challenge you, but you should read it over and over again and you should recommend it to everybody.

I wish it had talked more about pronouns, personally, but a good guide to helping understand gender theory.
